Project Summary, Objectives and Results
Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Kazakhstan is undergoing a set of reforms under the State Programme for Educational Development (2011-2020), and related to the State Programme for Accelerated Industrial – Innovative Development (2010-2014).
The Kazakh government aims at improving the quality of Vocational Education and Training and to make VET more labour market oriented in order to increase employability of youngsters and adults, to improve the quality and international compatibility of the Kazakh labour force.
The project will support the development of the Sector Qualification Framework (SQF) in 3 sectors, including the required occupational standards, qualifications, assessment and certification standards.
Furthermore, the Project will provide training for policy makers and advisers, for developers in education and training, and for teachers and managers in educational institutions. Educational Management Information System will be established as one of the practical outcomes under this Project.
The overall objective is to promote the development of the Kazakhstan economy and stable growth of demand in the labour market, assisting in the development of the vocational education system of the country.
The goal of the Project is to provide support to the government and governmental authorities in the implementation of the „State program of education development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2011-2020.“
