Project Summary, Objectives and Results

Project Summary

The proposed IMEP Project will address wider International Higher Education and Quality Assurance agendas and build on the IHE work done as part part of previous Tempus projects in Uzbekistan and British Council QA and IHE programmes. The project will stimulate the university-enterprise cooperation culture by promoting good practices for setting internal interfaces in universities, creation of capacities of human resources, promoting coherent information and communication strategies between universities and local and national businesses.

Overall objective: to contribute to the internationalization and further enhancement of Quality Assurance System in the Higher Education of Uzbekistan through the development of continuous professional development, student and employer engagement in teaching and learning.

Project Objectives
  • To develop new approaches in continuing professional development of teachers and academic leaders in higher education.
  • To ensure consistency and improvement of the teaching and learning standards in various subject areas.
  • To involve students in teaching and learning process.
  • To involve employers in improving the standards of teaching and learning.

Activities
  • Improving pedagogic and professional degree of pedagogues and professors, modern methods of teaching processes.
  • Developing teaching methods, approaches, techniques and qualification requirements using modern and international educational experiences in retraining and in-service training of Pedagogues and Heads of Higher Educational Institutions.
  • Implementing new information technologies such as: Internet, multimedia systems and innovative technologies into education.
  • Improving practical foreign language skills of pedagogues of Higher Educational Institutions and using this skill in raising the productivity in work place.

  • Pilot Professional development courses developed and implemented in partner universities.
