Project Summary, Objectives and Results

Project Summary

ENTER aims at creating a novel multicultural and international approach for formal post-graduate professional and pedagogical education for engineering educators. Furthermore, it is focused on low cost and convenience, thus strongly based on e-learning technologies, whenever feasible, and designed with the objective of being internationally recognized and accredited. In order to design the ENTER iPET programme, a thoroughly market and requirements analysis of HEIs and educators needs will be conducted, focused on the EU and partners’ countries, but also considering opportunities in other markets like North Africa, South America and Asia. The ENTER iPET programme, accredited internationally by Estonian Centre for Engineering Pedagogy at TTU, proposes a hierarchy of 3 structured educational programs for engineering educators, in the context of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning.

Objective:

  • To develop and introduce three level program IPET for Masters in Engineering, young researchers and faculty in accordance with the Bologna principles.
Project Objectives
  • To develop three level program IPET for Masters in Engineering, young researchers and faculty in accordance with the Bologna principles (EQF, NQF, QMS).
  • To develop teaching and learning complex including digital learning technologies for three level program IPET.
  • To define criteria and indicators for evaluating the quality of three level program IPET.
  • To prepare experts and administration able to work with innovative education technologies in three level program IPET.
  • To prepare documentation for accreditation and acknowledgment of three level program IPET by the leading accreditation agencies (for instance, IGIP).
  • To disseminate the project results in research and education area for contributing to introducing three level program IPET.

Activities

Designing 3 educational programs with different content and duration (names are tentative):

  1. iPET-1 Short-focused (e.g. 2 ECTS = 72 academic hours);
  2. iPET-2 Professional Retraining (e.g. 8 ECTS = 288 academic hours);
  3. iPET-3 International recognized (e.g. 20 ECTS = 720 academic hours), a full programme leading to international accreditation as “Engineering Educator”.
